The GICM supports training providers whose courses reach a high standard and offers full membership of the Guild, to those positive touch teachers who have trained and qualified with one of the accredited training providers. A database of professional members and accredited training providers is maintained, with limited information being available to the general public and other professional disciplines, via our website. The GICM expects that all students of positive touch should have relevant knowledge of anatomy and physiology, or be working towards this within their positive touch training. All full members are required to have a valid disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. The GICM wants professionalism delivered with sensitivity. The positive touch teachers who support and teach parents/carers have a unique access to parental/infant and child holistic wellbeing, and have the opportunity to be of influence. Therefore, these practical skills have to be safeguarded and enfolded in professional, well trained and competent hands. |
